My Best Braid-Out Ever!
Anyone who knows me knows that I am not much into styling my hair. I pretty much stick to a few basic styles, and that’s it. So, I decided to add more styles to the rotation.
I’ve attempted a twist-out many times. I got varied results. Then I tried a braid-out, and for me that works much better. I’ve been experiementing with different products for my braid-outs, and some have worked better than others. Most of the time I had to rebraid in large braids each night for it to make it to the next day. This photo shows my second day hair without rebraiding or doing anything to it last night besides sleeping on my satin pillowcase. AND…I took this picture after being out in wet weather yesterday and today. AND…the photo doesn’t really do it justice because I took it with my phone, but you get the idea.
Okay, so here’s what I did:
My hair was stretched out from wearing a bun. I gave each piece a light spritz of water. I did a few medium-sized braids using Lil’ Better Butter. I put a little coconut oil on them in the morning before I took them down.
Like I mentioned before, I slept on my satin pillowcase. No effort was made to preserve the style (because I was tired). I thought I would have to put it in a puff in the morning, but it still looked good.
The only downside is that everyone has been wanting to touch my hair now that it is down. The adults I politely reject, but I had a few little boys tell me that they love my hair as they were touching it and enjoying it. I couldn’t say no the babies.

A. B-W.- I ♥ it!!!!
Lil Better Butter, huh? I’ve got to try that.
And your hair does look REALLY good for second day hair without rebraiding it at night!
girl that does look good. i hate doing all that braiding at night. it gets to be too much.
Those are great results. I have a hard time getting that kind of definition. And I can’t believe the wet weather didn’t ruin it. I need some of that stuff.
It does look good and no need to refresh is a plus in my book
Thanks! That is a plus in my book as well.
wow, that is nice!
Thanks!!
Looks great!! I can’t wait until I get that kind of length. A braid out is one of my dream styles.
Thanks!! I think it is getting to be one of my faves.

SwarthyDaisy@naturalbyl Awesome Braid out! LOve it!
KinkyCurlQueen@naturalbyl i’m loving your braid out mama!
I really like the braid out. Very nice. I would love for you to accent the sytle with a flower, perhaps an orange one.
Love it! Try the flat twistout and Bantu the ends -easier to take down in the am and super curly.
I live for braid-outs!! I also have to braid them at night to maintenance, so I am bowled over by your hair after just sleeping on a satin pillowcase!!! Wow!
